    A method for determining an external magnetic field with an NV magnetometer includes recording single resonance signals for determining resonance frequencies by using frequency-modulated microwave radiation emitted onto a sensor material in frequency bands based on a microwave frequency and a carrier frequency, recording a double resonance signal with a dispersive form and a linear range around the resonance frequencies, determining a slope of the linear range as a scalar factor from the double resonance signal, observing a detuning of the resonance frequencies via the double resonance signal with resonant emission of the microwave radiation due to external magnetic field changes, controlling the frequency bands based on the observed detuning so that the frequency bands remain in the range of the resonance frequencies present at the detuning even after the detuning has occurred, and determining the external magnetic field from a distance of the frequency bands and the detuning ΔB.

    High-gain, omni-directional antenna systems for MIMO technologies are disclosed herein. An example antenna system comprises two arrays of horizontally polarized radiating elements and two arrays of vertically polarized radiating elements. Each array has a roughly 180-degree radiation pattern, disposed about a central axis in a common horizontal plane. The horizontally polarized radiating elements comprise a plurality of slot elements and the vertically polarized radiating elements comprise a plurality of dipole elements. Each of the two arrays of horizontally polarized radiating elements and each of the two arrays of vertically polarized radiating elements arrays are fed using a corporate feed. The example antenna system further comprises at least one printed circuit board that includes a corporate feed that is fabricated onto the at least one printed circuit board.

The lighting arrangement comprises a light source adapted to emit visible light; a radiation source adapted to emit radiation in a predetermined spectrum, and a driver circuit adapted to provide a first driving current that is pulsed and has a duty cycle of not greater than 20%. The predetermined spectrum is preferably in the range 760-1400 nm. The lighting arrangement is adapted to provide the first driving current to the radiation source but not the light source. Corresponding method and products employing such lighting arrangement are also provided.

    Systems and techniques for reliably predicting a motion phase for non-invasive treatment of the heart. The system and methods may account for both respiratory and cardiac cycles in characterizing the motion of the heart relative to the irradiation source. The system and methods may also include a heartbeat sensor that provides an independent reference indication of the cardiac phase to provide real-time or near real-time quality assurance of a current predicted phase indication. The disclosed system and methods may be configured for use in one of two modes: “beam-gating” and “beam-tracking”. For beam-gating, the predicted cardiac phase is compared to the desired gating window, based on the patient-specific treatment plan, to determine if a gate ON or gate OFF signal should be set. For beam-tracking, the predicted cardiac phase is used to load the appropriate beam parameters based on the patient-specific and motion phase-dependent treatment plans.
