    A method of calibrating a monitoring system (10,14) is described in which a calibration phantom (70) is located with its center located approximately at the isocenter of a treatment room through which a treatment apparatus (16) is arranged to direct radiation, wherein the surface of the calibration phantom (70) closest to an image capture device (72) of the monitoring system (10,14) is inclined approximately 45° relative to the camera plane of an image capture device of the monitoring system. Images of the calibration phantom (70) are then captured using the image capture device (72) and the images are processed to generate a model of the imaged surface of the calibration phantom. The generated model of the imaged surface of the calibration phantom (70) is then utilized to identify the relative location of the center of the calibration phantom (70) and the camera plane of the image capture device (72) which is then utilized to determine the relative location of the camera plane of the image capture device and the isocenter of a treatment room.

    Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for the production of printing forms for flexographic printing. The apparatus includes a carrier plate on a retaining device, a reservoir and an exposure apparatus. A solidifiable medium is applied to a carrier plate in regions or at certain points in at least one layer in order to configure a raised surface of the printing form. At least one exposure apparatus emits UV radiation, points which are exposed to this radiation. By the sequence of exposure over a defined time and subsequent movement of the carrier plate, preferably in the vertical direction to the exposure apparatus, the solidifiable medium is solidified layer by layer. Thus a raised printing form is produced by repetition of this sequence.

A detector (40; 140) includes a detecting element (45; 145) located in a second position relative to the fluid passage (36; 236) with the liquid (34) disposed between the emitter (32; 132) and the detector (40; 140). The detecting element (45; 145) generates an electric current in response to the ionizing radiation particles (38) contacting the detector (40; 140). A controller (50) is in communication with the detector (40; 140) to receive the electric current generated by the detecting element (45; 145). The controller (50) is operable to detect chips in the liquid (34) when the electric current generated by the detecting element (45; 145) is greater than a threshold value of the electric current.

    The present invention relates to a method for taking volumetric measurements from volumetric images obtained by a volumetric image capturing device. The method comprises the steps of: guiding the radiation emitted from an object extended over an optical cavity made up of reflective surfaces; and configuring the optical cavity to generate different optical path lengths to the radiation guided by the optical cavity, depending on the starting position of the radiation from the object and on the direction of propagation of the radiation from the object. The described method enhances the resolution and simplifies the complexity of the components compared to other methods for capturing volumetric images. It is used to quickly capture volumetric images to make neurophysiological recordings, release neurotransmitters in the brain and be implemented in other technical fields that require high-speed volumetric measurements, such as illumination with specific volumetric patterns, characterisation of the volumetric light field and time-controlled interferometric measurements.

The frequency modulation and the amplitude modulation are coupled together in a phase-locked manner, wherein the frequency modulation shift, the amplitude modulation shift, and the relative phase of the frequency modulation and the amplitude modulation are set in such manner that the spectrum of the frequency- and amplitude-modulated laser radiation has a carrier (4', 4'') and a single sideband (5', 5'') which is spaced from the carrier (4', 4'') by the value of the modulation frequency.
